Vole Ballet School Dance Programme Offerings

Ballet Training

The school offers ballet classes from pre-primary until Advanced 2 level. During our ballet classes the RAD syllabus is taught in preparation for examinations which take place twice a year. A high level of technique is maintained throughout classes and an emphasis is always kept on developing a joyous and deep love for the ballet. Outside of syllabus work, stretch, technique and strength exercises are taught on a regular basis.

Body Conditioning

Contemporary Dance Training

Creative Movement

At Vole Ballet School we believe that physical well being is a cornerstone in a dancers training. Regular body conditioning classes ensure that our dancers have strong muscles and bones to prevent injury and promote a well structured and confident dance career. Light resistance training and dance related strength exercise is taught in a fun and motivating group environment. Teaching the basics of physical fitness and regular exercise is vitally important for young adults and children. These good habits will eventually follow them into adulthood.

Contemporary dance draws from both classicl ballet and modern dance. At Vole Ballet School we have junior and senior contemporary dance programs. In our contemporary training we will draw from and learn floor-work, release and contraction technique and improvisation as well as explore different choreographic styles. This is a fun and technically challenging dance style for all ages.

Creative movement aims to bring dance technique, performance and storytelling together. We will combine physical theatre, text work and contact improvisation to explore different ways in which the body can tell stories and communicate with an audience. The classes will develop physical awareness, imagination, partner work, characterisation and storytelling skills which provide the basis for musical theatre work and improve performance skills for all other types of dance.
